Mode and place of processing the Data
Methods of processing
The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorized destruction of the Data. Data is transmitted in encrypted form (HTTPS). The email address, username, full name and profile picture link are additionally stored in encrypted form on the Owner's servers.
The Data processing is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organizational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Owner, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge, involved with the operation of this Application (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner. The updated list of these parties may be requested from the Owner at any time.
Place
The servers that run this Application's backend, its database and the website are operated for the Owner by IONOS SE in Germany. Some of the service providers listed in this document process Data in the United States.
Depending on the User's location, data transfers may involve transferring the User's Data to a country other than their own. Where Data is transferred from the European Union to a country without an adequacy decision, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for recipients certified under it) or on the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission. To find out more about the place of processing of such transferred Data, Users can check the section containing details about the processing of Personal Data.
Retention time
Unless specified otherwise in this document, Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for and may be retained for longer due to applicable legal obligation or based on the Users’ consent. In particular:
- Account data, health and fitness data, content and social data are kept until the User deletes them or deletes their account. Deleting the account in this Application removes the User's Data and uploaded images from the Owner's servers. Training plans and exercises that the User published for others remain available without any link to the User.
- Meal photos used for an AI estimate are kept together with the logged meal until the User deletes the meal or their account.
- After an account is deleted, the Owner keeps a hashed (one-way encrypted) form of the email address and of the Google or Apple account identifier for one year, to prevent repeated use of the free AI training plan and of referral rewards. These hashes cannot be turned back into the original values and are deleted automatically after that year. The Owner also keeps the User ID and the date of the deletion, which no longer relate to any other Data of the User.
- Codes for email verification, password resets and account deletion expire after a short time and are deleted automatically.
- Accounts whose email address is never verified are deleted automatically 30 days after sign up.
- Server logs are kept for 14 days.
- Bug reports and feedback are kept as long as needed to handle them.
- Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are kept according to these providers' rules and to statutory retention periods for tax and accounting.
The purposes of processing
The Data concerning the User is collected to allow the Owner to provide its Service, comply with its legal obligations, respond to enforcement requests, protect its rights and interests (or those of its Users or third parties), detect any malicious or fraudulent activity, as well as the following: Analytics, Displaying content from external platforms, Device permissions for Personal Data access, Hosting and backend infrastructure, Registration and authentication, Social features, AI features, Notifications and emails, Handling payments, Infrastructure monitoring and Support. Category of Personal Information collected according to the CCPA: identifiers; audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information.
Some features of this Application use AI models of third-party providers. The request is sent from the Owner's servers. The providers receive the content needed for the request, but not the User's email address, name or User ID. The Owner uses these providers under terms that do not allow them to use the content to train their models.
The following features send content to an AI provider:
- Calorie estimate for a meal: the meal photo or the description of the meal (typed, or spoken and turned into text on the device), corrections the User adds, and the language of the app.
- Reading a nutrition label: the photo of the label.
- Creating a training plan: gender, training experience, available equipment, training focus, training days and the free text the User adds, which may describe injuries or other health details.
- Translation: recipes, training plans and other content created by Users, so that it can be shown in another language.
- Support: the text of bug reports, to filter out spam.
Users decide what they enter in free text fields and should not add details they do not want processed in this way. AI results can be wrong and should be checked by the User.

Further information about the processing of Personal Data
This Application is not intended for persons under the age of 16, and they may not use it. The Owner does not knowingly process their Personal Data; if the Owner learns that such Data has been collected, it is deleted. Users under the age of 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian to purchase a subscription.
Users can delete their account in this Application at any time. For safety, the deletion is confirmed with a code sent by email. What happens to the Data afterwards is described under “Retention time”.
Workout history, body weight entries, achieved goals and logged foods can be exported as CSV files in this Application under Settings, then Data. Users who want a copy of their other Data can ask the Owner using the contact details in this document.
Some features work only on the User's device and do not send the processed content to the Owner or to third parties: speech recognition for describing meals, barcode scanning, and automatic translation with Google ML Kit (Android) or Apple's translation feature (iOS).
Training history files from other apps (for example Strong or Hevy) are read on the device. The workouts they contain are then stored on the Owner's servers like any other workout.
The website of this Application does not use cookies, analytics or other Trackers and does not load content from third parties unless the User asks for it, as described below. It uses localStorage to remember the chosen unit system and color mode. localStorage allows the website to store and access data right in the User's browser with no expiration date.

Pressing play is the User's consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) to load the video through the YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Google then receives the User's IP address and information about the browser and may use cookies or similar technologies, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The consent applies to that one video and can be withdrawn by leaving or reloading the page.
This Application shares User Data only with third parties carefully selected to ensure that they provide the same or equal protection of User Data as stated in this privacy policy and requested by applicable data protection laws. Further information on data processing and privacy practices by third parties can be found in their respective privacy policies.
